Thalassotherapy center of Accor Group is located in the basement nivel
of Sofitel Miramar. This basement of 2500 m² is half-buried and presents one facade on the Ocean, at the
level of beach promenade. This facade is the only sign of exterior, as clients arrive in the cure space by elevator.
Regular trama of columns was intensifying the scheme of the plan, and the sensation of being in a basement.
The architecture of interior spaces was then designed to blot out the locked-in sensation, using the
facade to the ocean as the main spot of interest coming out the elevator.
A silent water wall is located in the hall, and natural light shows the curve passage to care rooms.
In one of these, a pool for relaxation is designed as a marguerite flower, and covered with a cupola : the map of
stars in Biarritz’ night on june 21st of 2000 is lightened with optical fibers.
This realisation of interior design has been often publicated, and still represents the know-how of B+S Architectures.
